Hi, and welcome to Velvet Rags Cattery, a breeder of Ragdolls.  We are a small,
Christian, family run cattery, located in Creedmoor, NC (20 minutes north of Raleigh
and 2 hours south of Richmond, VA).   We focus on quality and not quantity so we
only have a limited number of litters per year.  

We concentrate on providing well socialized kittens, adaptable to a variety of
situations, with lots of tender loving care.   Because we work with our kittens from a
young age they learn to trust us and become very loving toward humans.  After a lot
of research we have come to understand that the most critical socialization time for a
kitten is 4-12 weeks old.  At this age the kitten imprints with what ever it is exposed
to.  We have developed a variety of techniques to best do this.  Most of our kittens
are floppy, moppy, lap cats and freely give kisses.  They are adapted to children, dogs
and noise.  We breed for not only beauty but temperament also.    

Our goal is to raise healthy, emotionally well adjusted kittens properly matching
them with the right, forever home.   We enjoy listening to our clients needs in order
to match them with the right kitten or cat.   We believe our clients are adopting a new
member of their family.  Because of this understanding we keep clients, that are
waiting for kittens, updated with lots of pictures and encourage visits with their
future babies.

Kittens are available after 12 weeks allowing them to mature sufficiently and learn
critical social skills from their litter mates and mother.  The kittens will be:  trained to
use the litter box and scratching post; eating solid food; have shots and a vet
check-up; spayed or neutered; litter registration with TICA; crate trained; get a
kitten kit; and socialized with other cats, a dog and children.  Health records include a
2 year genetic health guarantee.  

We are also a responsible breeder and treat our cats like pets.   Our cats are never
caged unless it is for health reasons.  We are members of the Ragdoll Fanciers Club
International, RFCI, and practice their Code of Conduct.

We welcome visitors to our cattery and love introducing others to the beauty and
